Hi everyone. I'm Robi Dunn from NevadaWoods and NevadaWoodswearables. It was great to meet so many of you last night at the meeting, and I'm so glad many of you are interested in participating in the upcoming fair. I haven't heard back yet if we can officially get that date, but I will post when I do.
For those of you who were unable to attend the meeting last night, we are holding a fair at the Resort on Mount Charleston (formerly the Mount Charleston Hotel---NOT the Lodge). It will be tentatively on August 8th. We figure the best time would be from 10am to 4pm. The fair will be held outdoors, so you will need to provide your own shade. If you don't have a table, the hotel will rent you a table and two chairs for $20.
The hotel is not charging us, but we figure the cost will be $35-$50 per vendor to cover advertising, renting porta potties, etc. This cost depends on how many participate. Right now, I have 21 people interested in participating. The more people who participate, the less the cost per vendor.
It is 30 degrees cooler up here (yes, I live here), and we have 1000's of people coming up here every weekend to escape the heat. Everyone who goes anywhere in Kyle Canyon has to pass the hotel, so I expect a lot of traffic. If this goes well, this could be an annual event.
If you are interested in attending, please e-mail ASAP at nevadawoods@hotmail.com. Also, I can use anyone's help and expertise as I am a novice at setting up any crafts fairs. Thanks to all of you who offered to help. I promise I will contacting you soon!!! :) Happy crafting.

I'd totally love to go! But I've never done a craft show before. So I'm kinda nervous. I do have a question though..do I need a business license or something to participate? I was planning on getting one eventually...but I don't even make that much from my shop right now so I thought it wasn't worth it. If anyone has an answer and can help me i'd really appreciate it! I really wanna get out there...and not just sit behind my computer screen.
I don't think you need one on private property. Don't feel bad---I'm organizing this and I've never been in a craft fair!!!!
I think we as vendors don't need a biz license, but someone has to collect, I believe sales taxes unless you have your own tax ID number, which I have for years. I turn in my own taxes.
Easy to apply for one at State of NV Dept of Taxation.

Sounds great and I've always wanted to go up to Mount Charleston...too bad I'll have to work.
Let me know! i have never done one but look forward to it
I am so sad that I will not be able to be involved in this show. My hubby and I will be out of town during that time. :(
I would LOVE to do this!!
