Fresh 52 Farmers Market

HI all,

I visited the Fresh 52 market this morning and spoke with Carrie, the Market owner/promoter. I was pretty impressed with her and her vision for this brand new venue. The farmers and food vendors who were there seemed to be doing a good business even on this first day. There were a few jewelry makers there, but not too many craft shoppers I didn't think. However, Carrie is envisioning a whole parking lot of crafters, so lets make them all Etsy crafters!!

Go to www.Fresh52.com for an application, rules and more info.

Yippee! I like her vision and I like you way of thinking...a market full of Etsy stores! Yeehaw! As much as I wish I could do it this minute, I need to build up my inventory. Hopefully by the end of summer I will be on board to join in the fun! :-)

I got to check Fresh52 out today too. I thought I would be out of town, but I got back early. There were about 13 venders there and although it was slow, I can see how traffic will pick up as word gets out. Yes, let's Vegas Does Etsy it up! (A couple of venders didn't have tents, so don't let that stop you from trying. )

I will have a booth there next Sunday and if anyone else comes out, come on over and say "Hi!".

I also talked to Debbie and Dan who run the (also) new Farmers Market at the Roadhouse on Saturdays. I think I will try that one too, next week. One of the venders said traffic was pretty good there yesterday at the grand opening.

Both shows are $35/day/each. Fresh52 will even let two venders split a 10x10 space for $22 each as long as both businesses are clearly labled.

I spoke to a lady that does a lot of the farmers markets (she sells hummus and dips) and she said at a normal farmers market she does about $100-$200 and she did the fresh52 and she sold almost $300. not too bad for opening weekend!

Not bad at all!

The "Grand Opening" is going to be June 20th and I am going to be at that one, too.

I was the only non-food vender there last week besides the organizer, Carrie, so there is definitely room to grow!

If anyone is interested, I really believe this is a venue that will grow into something special. There is a jury processes for venders, so it should end up fairly high-end.

And yes - it was slow for me, but the strawberry guy accross from me sold out.

Also - Carrie told me you do NOT need a biz license because the market is in Las Vegas. She would really like to add more artisans to the venue. The hours have changed too – 8 to 1 now.
