Mt. Charleston Signs

I'm having a lot of trouble getting my sign into the hard ground here. I was hoping some of you could give me pointers. For the past three days, I've been at the side of the road before work trying to hammer the sign post, wet the ground, and dig into it. I can never get the sign deep enough, and it always falls over. I'm getting pretty frustrated with this, but since I'm not used to the hard ground here, maybe there's a trick I don't know about. I have skinny arms and no man to do it for me.

How frustrating, Natalie! I can't think of any advice to give you other than to just find another place to stick it in the ground. Other than using a hammer to stick in the stand, I can't think of any magic tricks to soften up this vegas turf.

It took a long time, but I got it to work.

what about using a metal concrete stake first to make the hole. Like political signs, rebar works well also.
