Team Directory Book

Hi Handmade in Vegas Team!

Sarah has come up with another great idea. We are going to put together a binder that showcases each and every team member. Each team member will get one page to create about themselves and their store. You can put whatever you want on this page. Ideas include a photo, your shop logo, info about you, your crafting experience, photos of items in your store, etc.

You are all artists in one way or another, so I am sure you can ramp up your creativity and show us what you’ve got. Maybe we can do a contest for the most creative page.

You can just do this on the computer, or add thin embellishments like stickers, photos, glitter, etc. We don’t want thick embellishments to take up a lot of room in the book. Each page will go into an 8.5” x 11” page protector.

If you can please bring your page to an upcoming meeting, we will get you included in the book. The book will be organized by type of vendor, as it is on the Handmade in Vegas website. The book will be brought to the various team events, and it is a chance for your fellow team members to get to know you and what you have to offer. Potential customers will see this too.

I am also looking to have some business card pages in the binder so that you can put some of your business cards in there too.

If you have any questions or suggestions, you can reach me at HappyBugDesigns@cox.net

Thanks!
Marti aka "HappyBug"

We'll have the book on display at ArtsWalk every month, at our team meetings, and any other team events we put on. Since all of these are open to the public, this should give everyone some extra exposure.

A big thanks to Marti for volunteering to make my idea a reality. I really look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with!

Have you considered getting copies printed? Each member could pay for their copy if they want one, and proceeds could go to team events, etc.

Check out this thing called the 2010 Diary.

http://fantazya.ca/diary2010.html

I participated in it (free to participate). A woman in Canada created this daily journal with pages that are essentially ads for everyone who wanted to be included. It was all over Etsy in the forums last year and for artists/crafters only. I submitted a grayscale image for my ad, and anyone who wanted a copy paid around $20.

We wouldn't have to do a diary. It could be just a directory, but each member would have the chance to own a copy.

Great idea Marti! Also, if you are not so inclined to actually "make up" a page you can go to this site http://cr8tivity.com/ and create a flier (PDF) of items from your shop which has your shop banner on it. Just an idea, plus it's good to know for shows and the like. I don't have a car right now so probably won't be at the next meeting but will get one made up for the one after.

If anyone wants, they can snail mail me their page. If you wish to do this, email me at happybugdesigns@cox.net.

I am clueless what to do. I might be 'crafty' but I'm definitely not 'artsy'.

Hopefully I'll get to see the book one of these days and maybe it will give me some ideas.
