Hi group! As some of you may know Angela from Studio 8Ten provided an opportunity for the members of the HandMade In Vegas group to rent space at the gallery for only $30.00 for the months of October, November and December. I don't know about you, but to my mind $10.00 a month for a booth space during the city's largest monthly art event is a screaming deal and not one to pass up lightly.
Unfortunately, I've been informed by Angela today that the event has been canceled due to lack of interest. Kathy & I are still scratching our heads over it. I have contacted Angela to see how many people she would need to have involved in order to carry on with the event. I'm looking forward to hearing from her soon and will let you all know on Friday at the meeting what she has said.
I think it would be a shame not to take advantage of a potentially profitable event that could also offer a great deal of exposure. If there is anyone here who would be interested in this event and perhaps didn't know about it, please post here and let us know.

I think it is a case of so much going on during those months. There are just so many shows, fairs, events, etc. It's a great opportunity, but I think so many people are already committed to other events.People only have so much inventory, and several of our members already sell at First Friday.
Good point, Anonymous. I know I for one took on WAY too much this holiday season but agree with Carrieann that this is a fabulous opportunity for upcoming months. Maybe Angela would be able to offer this for post-holiday season months as well?
Sadly for me it was a case of not being able to commit to November & December. Certainly would have been perfect for me as I don't have a car and it's not too far from home.
That's right on the money. I know I committed to other fairs when this came up and the amount of inventory is also a factor. It also doesn't help that I live so far away - but it is a great opp.

So much coming up and inventory to do for all the shows. I know I limit myself also. Plus, the fact of Christmas Present to start thinking about.
That is a good deal. Unfortunately we are doing the LV Crafters Guild Show on Oct 1 so that one would be out for us. Also, it's a tight fit for me since I get off work at 6:15 and it starts at 7.
Thanks for all the feedback! All good points. For Anyone who IS interested and is free those dates Angela at Studio 8 Ten is willing to reconsider if we can get 17 vendors in.

Do you know if they were successful in getting on the FF bus/trolley stop route?
Unfortunately, I don't think so, but we can confirm that with Angela at the meeting since it's now going to be at Studio 8 Ten.
