My name is Melinda Stender. I am a long time resident of Las Vegas. I am an artist and a craftsperson. Right now I am focusing on hair accessories. I've been looking into local craft shows and was a little disappointed in what I found so I talked to UNLV and we were able to work something out.
On April 16th, 2011 UNLV will be having their Festival of Communities. It is a HUGE event that encompasses all different cultures and activities. We decided that a craft fair would work along with their event so they are excited to have us. Last year they had over 5000 attendees, think of the potential of your work being looked at by that number of people. Also the booth price is very good. It is 25$ for a booth, and the table is provided. You can share a booth with up to 2 other people so that is a great option if you don't want to do a whole booth for yourself.
I think registration will be ending the 2nd week of March so please go on and register for a booth, I really want the arts and crafts community to be well represented at this event.
The direct registration link is http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/craft1
And you can check out the UNLV festival site at http://festivals.unlv.edu/

Bummer - you have to live in LV or Henderson to get a space. (I'm in Boulder)
Thanks for the info, though. We'll be attending as a family for sure. :)
