Wow - March has really snuck up on me! The second Tuesday of the month is only a week away so here's the details on our monthly meeting:
Where: Findley Chevrolet Community Room
6800 South Torrey Pines Drive, Las Vegas, NV, 89118
When: 7-8:30pm
Why: Cause we're cool like that
Topic: Selling online outside of Etsy (other possible venues such as Artfire, Zibbet, Bonanza, webstore, Amazon, eBay, etc)
Craft: Simple origami patterns. Basic craft paper will be supplied, bring your own fancy origami paper if you'd like!
We are no longer doing a raffle event at our team meetings since there are not enough attendees to justify the donations. However, food donations are always welcome!

Vendor space for our team members during First Fridays!!
![]() | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Mayor Oscar Goodman officially opens Studio 8 Ten |
Hi team! I have recently been in touch with Angela Esler-Whelan of Studio 8 Ten who has offered our team an amazing opportunity to have a presence at Las Vegas' premiere monthly art event, First Friday
We think this would be excellent opportunity to provide our team much needed exposure and sales. We would begin with the First Friday in April of 2011. The Studio is offering us unbelievably inexpensive vendor space on their property.
There will be an informative interest meeting with Andreana, Supervisor/gallery/event coordinator
to determine if we have enough participants to make this a successful event. So if you'd like to be set up were Las Vegan's are coming to check out art and shop then please be at the meeting.WHEN: Saturday, 3/5/11 at 1pm
WHERE: Studio 8 Ten - 810 South Las Vegas Blvd., Las Vegas, NV, 89101
(some of you may recall the location as we had a team meeting there last year.)
In addition - We are ALL invited to the Studio's First Friday show on March 4th, from 6-8PM. This will give you a good idea of where they currently are at with First Friday participation. It's going to be a fun event!
Please contact me (Carrie from Ametista) soon if you are interested at ametista_etsy@live.com
Boulder City Fine Arts Festival Applications Due Soon!
The 26th Annual BC Fine Arts Festival is coming up - application deadline is March 1st for inclusion in the program, and April 1st otherwise. Vendor fee is $200 for the Saturday/Sunday and booth sharing is allowed. Event runs from 10-5pm each day. Here's the event website with all the information: http://www.bcfineartsfestival.com/
Anyone have any feedback about this event? I haven't been but considering it's Boulder City and in its 26th year, I'm sure it's decent.

Mt. Charleston Summer Crafts Show
The Resort at Mt. Charleston is opened to hosting another Handmade in Vegas show this summer. Those of you who participated in last year's show know that overall, it was a success. I'm hoping to snag a Saturday in either July or August. If I can schedule early enough, we might be able to get a Saturday so people who are not able to participate on Sundays could join us. Last year were able to have about 45 vendors inside and out. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in doing another Mt. Charleston show. The cost will be $50 like the last one. Please let me know if you are interested either through email (nevadawoods@hotmail.com) or by posting here. Thanks----Robi.

New Site: Vendors of Southern Nevada
I just ran across this site and was wondering if any of you had seen it.
It's http://vendorsofsouthernnevada.com/home/ . So far, there are very few vendors signed up, but the idea of it is great and if we got a bunch of our team members on it, it could be great for business (since we'd kind of be all they have!) Here's a blurb explaining what it's all about:
I'm probably going to sign up. For only $12 for the year, it's at least a great web ad!\
**Also, no one has volunteered to act as team captain, but I just want to let you know that the opportunity is available. I won't step down as Captain until someone else would like to replace me so don't worry about the team not having a leader!

If you are a vendor and live in the Southern Nevada area then you might be interested in "Vendors of Southern Nevada". This website enables the vendor:
* To Advertise their product, website and contact info.
* For an Event Corrdinator to see and choose vendors for their event.
*To help keep the vendor up to date on what events are upcoming.
* For the vendor to rate an event or show for future reference.
* It enables vendors to talk to one another for how to's and allows vendors to sell vendor equipment and such to one another.
The cost for subscription is $12 for one full year. If this something you feel you'd be interested in then go to Vendors of Southern Nevada and register.
