Heatherp22 presents-"Raggedy Bags"!

Hi Everyone,
I have a new item in my shop I am calling "Raggedy Bags".
I hand crochet 1" strips of mostly 100 per cent cotton fabric into these stretchy versatile bags that are colorful and full of texture.

I  use mine for carrying my wet bathing suit home from pool parties.
Any yarn portions are cotton or acrylic yarn so the bags are machine washable and dryable.
In fact they just get better and better the more you wash and dry them,  a distressed look.

They are also reversible: one side has all the fuzzy knots
and the other is smooth and reminds me of vintage rag rugs.
I have added polymer clay pieces to some and
adjustable handles to others.

Join me and many other Team members at
the Mt Charleston Arts and Crafts Fair
Sunday August 8th 10 am until 4 pm
Arts, Crafts, Music, Food and Fun!!

PS if you want to know why I added the mandolin go to My Muse:
Do you know what a musical Rag is?

News from your Jurying Committee

Hi everyone!  I am Heather Pyle, www.heatherp22.etsy.com. and my two partners on the jurying committee are Marlene of IslandGirlzJewelry and Kellie of ArtBoxDesigns.

We met last week to discuss the jurying in of shops issues.  After discussing all the input we collected from the blog and our own thoughts this is what we came up with.

In order to be a part of the Handmade In Vegas Etsy Team you will need to meet the following criteria:

1-  Have and maintain an Etsy shop for a minimum of 3 months.
2-  Sell at least 60% handmade items in your shop.
(If you have separate vintage and supplies shops you may direct buyers in your shop appearance
section to these shops but these items may not use the "MadeInVegas Team" tag.
3-  Live in the Southern Nevada area; south of Mesquite.
4-  If there is nothing available in your shop please use vacation mode.
5-  Use the team tag "MadeInVegas team" on items you want to appear in the team blog and shop.
6-  Check in on the blog periodically to let us know you are still out there and interested in Team
     Activities.

Lastly we have a list of suggestions on how to participate.
We understand we all have busy lives but we will expect members to help promote others
and the team as a whole by choosing to participate at least twice a year
in one or more of the following ways.

1-    Donate an item to the team store - min $15 value.
2-    Assume a team leadership role
3-    Organize a project
4-    Chair an event
5-    Attend 2 team events (meetings, craft shows...) per year
6-    Volunteer to work at the team table (First Friday, Henderson Artwalk...)
7-    Post on the team blog or team Facebook page
8-    Post on your blog with a link to the HandmadeInVegas blog
9-    Tweet about the team
10-   Post on your Facebook page with a link to the HandmadeInVegas blog
11-   Teach a workshop or class
12-   Write an article about the team, or team events or team members/shops

Please feel free to comment, we want your feedback.  Our team will evolve as we grow and get to know each other better.

JURYING -We want your input please....

Hi Etsy Team!  This is heather from heatherp22.etsy.com , "Aquariart".
I am on the committee that is handling the jurying of new members.  We have our first meeting next week and I would like input from members who have strong feelings about this issue.  What do you think the criteria for being a member of our team should be besides having an etsy shop with inventory?  I will be collecting comments from this post for us to discuss next week and we will make our decisions based on your input so this is your chance to have a say!! Please do.
