Lord of the Rings, Anyone????
This is my big "WOW" piece that I'm going to bring to the Renegade Craft Fair in Austin. I'm attempting to impress people. Tee hee. FYI- this took me over a month and many different material changes but it was worth it.

Update on Mt. Charleston Summer Show
I AM SO SORRY, Sarah, and other members who cannot participate on a Sunday. I thought if I secured a date this early, that we might be able to do a Saturday show, but weddings are big bucks for the hotel, and they are booked on all the Saturdays. I actually sent three e-mails in December, asking about a possible summer show, but they consistently ignored me. Also, there weren't even any Sundays in July!!! I went ahead and secured Sunday, August 7th, for our show. The only other date was late in August, which is too close to school shopping. August 7th is the same weekend as last year, and we had a really big turnout. Maybe we could go 10-5 instead of 10-4. What does everyone think about that? Hopefully, we won't get torrential rains!!! The way weather has been this year, who can say!!!
It will be both inside and outside, including the lagoon area. I asked that no other vendors be present, so we could have the lobby area as well. I have written down the names of the people who have contacted me already, so they are the first to be included. Jewelry sellers are already starting to fill up. I will send out e-mails to everyone who participated last year. Please let me know if you are interested. My e-mail is nevadawoods@hotmail.com

Artbeat (formerly ArtsWalk) Applications now Available
I'm finally ready to start signing up amazing artist for Artbeat 2011 (formerly ArtsWalk). You will notice our structure has changed from 2010. The event this year will be held every Friday night during the months of April, May, June, September, October and November from 5-8. It will precede a world-class concert held at the Henderson Amphitheater (concert starts at 8pm) and application is open to any handmade artists.
Our first Artbeat event is April 1st. Applications and vendor fees need to be received at least one week prior to each event in order to be considered.
Artist application is available to view/print here.
The event website for Artbeat is www.hendersonartbeat.com.
We are offering last year's low rate of $5 per vendor for those who sign up to participate for 20 or more of our Fridays this year. The very discerning individual will also notice that paying for 20 events at $5 an event is cheaper than paying for 15 events at $8 an event.
The City of Henderson is also offering a 50% booth discount for their event, Art and All that Jazz for those vendors who pre-pay for 15 or more events as a thank you for those who support and participate frequently in Artbeat. Here is that event info: http://www. hendersonlive.com/special- events/art-and-all-that-jazz. This is potential discount of $150 to $250 dollars for the vendor fees for this event.

For those of you who haven't seen it yet, here's a great write up of one of our co-leaders, Kathy Wheeler!

Look for her in the second half of the article. Also a great mention of the team and the event that Kathy is hosting this month. Great job, Kathy!
