Craft Show This Weekend

I'm getting excited about our craft show this Sunday!  The weather looks fabulous (knock on wood)!

I  just signed up to use Square (from Apple) to take credit cards.  If you haven't seen one of these, you can stop by my booth and check it out. (Happy Bug Designs)  I have it on my new iPad, and totally love it!  I checked with the lodge, and they have free wi-fi, and you don't need to have a wi-fi plan to use it.

You can pre-set your items into inventory so all you have to do is touch a button, and the item is listed.  It even allows for variations.  As an example, I list scrapbook as an item.  I have the premade book at one price, a tutorial on how to make one at a second price, a kit to make one at a third price, and a kit tutorial combo price as a fourth.  I just click on scrapbooks, and then pick which one I want, and it is added to the receipt. This works well with buy two get one free offers too.  You can even elect to add taxes to your items. Your customer can choose to either have the receipt emailed to them or sent to their phone.  I tested a charge on my own card and the charge was done instantly, and the receipt sent at the same time.

The Square only takes out 2.75 percent (if you use their card reader), and it is deposited directly into your bank account. (if you have to key in the numbers, it is 3.5% plus 15 cents.)  If you use ProPay, it is 3.5% plus 35 cents, and then on top of that,  they charge you to transfer money into your bank account.

Last year, with the storm, the Lodge's wi-fi was knocked out, so I am still bringing my pro-pay info to be able to take credit cards over the phone in case there is a problem.

Remember to post on your Facebook and Twitter account to remind your friends to come on up for the cool weather and to support the local economy.  Hope to see you there!
