Back home---thanks for all the positive thoughts

We just got home with our six cats and our dog. The fire isn't completely out, but it's contained enough that we are out of danger. Let's hope this is the only one this year. It was started by some stupid person and an illegal campfire. I can't even begin to tell you how many times we have come across smoldering, abandoned, illegal campfires when we've been hiking or riding the horses. I don't even want to begin to talk about all the trash left everywhere. It's gotten really bad in the last few years.
Anyway, obviously, my plans to mail off the flyers and such were squashed when I was evacuating, so I will be mailing them off after the 4th of July holiday. I'm not leaving my house again until the holiday is over. I hope everyone understands. Take care everybody. Have a nice holiday!!!

Mount Charleston is on fire

Hello. I have been evacuated, so the fair information is on hold. Let's hope I have a home to go back to. The fire was right at the edge of our neighborhood and the winds weren't helping things when we left. Ironically, it is a year to the day that the plane crashed last year, and started another fire. Oh well. This is life in a forest. I hope people learn to be more careful. I'm hoping it wasn't caused by fireworks. Please everyone send positive thoughts my way---and thanks to all of you who have written to me with concerns. Robi

My upcycled entry for the current contest

When I first found out that the current contest had an "upcycled/repurposed" theme, I was enthused - because a good portion of the items in my shop Cybelesque fit the criteria. Shortly thereafter, however, my enthusiasm morphed into a purely paralyzed inability to choose a particular piece! So naturally, I felt a compulsion to create something completely different ;-p

Here's what I came up with: a "Miniachair Tableau"



Each component comprising this adorable diorama was originally intended for another purpose:

Chairs = champagne cages
Table = pizza box spacer
Umbrella = cocktail garnish
Base = aol CD
Mailing Case = recordable CD spindle (pictured in the listing)

So, aside from the glue, it's ALL upcycled!
